Definition of survive

5. To live, persist, or remain usable through: plants that can survive frosts; a clock that survived a fall.

6. To cope with (a trauma or setback); persevere after: survived child abuse

Definition of overcome 

1: to defeat (someone or something) after a tough battle, they overcame the enemy.

2: to successfully deal with or gain control of (something difficult) a story about overcoming adversity? she overcame a leg injury and is back running again. He overcame [conquered] his fear of heights and climbed the ladder.

3: to affect (someone) very strongly or severely — usually used as (be) overcome? the people trapped in the burning building were overcome by the heat and smoke.? the family was overcome by grief.

4 Defeat (an opponent); prevail: “they overcame the guards”; “we shall overcome

This sermon tonight is expected to bring understanding, awareness to us that the God we have is not an ordinary God, He is not corrupt and mixed up.  He cannot be bribed, employed or controlled.  When we have him in our lives and on our side, then everything must and would come through for you.  You will be highly favoured and blessed by God. We do not just survive but we must overcome.

The main text for this Conference is:-  Revelation 3:1 – 12

Some of us have a good reputation and it appears that we are alive. But in reality, there is nothing but inward deadness.   This is because they have no understanding,  no wisdom,  no knowledge, they do not take counsel and the Spirit of the Lord is not in them, nevertheless the scripture says there are a few which do not have such behaviour.  If you are spiritually dead then follow the plan which the Saviour has given.

1. Awake Be Watchful: -It is time for us to awake, Zion and trim your lamp become alert to the signs of the time, and be active for God as never before.

1. Strengthen: Take hold of the things that remain and are ready to die in your life and strengthen them through prayer and the Word.

1. Remember: Reflect back on the promises of God – what you have received and heard in times past.

1. Hold Fast: Hold fast to your faith and God’s Word.

1. Repent: Repent so you will be ready for the return of Christ and be not caught unaware

In many churches you hardly hear believers shout an amen or hallelujah regularly. Bible studies have become a thing of the past.  The churches have become formal, no more worship and praises. The Holy Ghost no longer takes precedence rules or directs. The people have become self conceited and they no longer obey the Lord’s command, the Ministers are no longer appreciated for their works sake and very little is done to respect the Ministry.  This is the type of church we have become.

There are some people who have not been taken up with the immoral standards which make the church still strong and powerful in the Lord.

It so true that church people ”Have become “actors” having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away” 2 Timothy Chapter 3: verse 5 refers.

A little girl was once asked how she defeats Satan. She said, “When Satan comes knocking at the door of my heart, I send God to answer the door. When Satan sees God, he says, “Ooops, I am sorry, I must have the wrong house.”

This church in Philadelphia is the one we need to pattern our lives after they are not only well aware of whom Jesus is, but they are patterning their lives after His. They are the very elect. Full of the Word, so full that it would be terribly difficult to deceive them.  God promises his people that He will keep them from the hour of temptation

In these end times, God is opening many tremendous doors of opportunity for his people. You may feel you have only a little strength, but God can make you a strong and mighty pillar in His Kingdom, a spiritual warrior who is able to walk through every door He opens. Let me ask you: What is holding you back from fulfilling God’s call for your life?

• Fear?
• Your finances?

• Your health?

• Your relationships with others?

God has set before you an open door which no man can shut. All the demons in hell cannot shut it. Jesus is the way. All you must do is walk through those doors in the almighty power of God.

Revelation 3:12

It is not enough to survive you must overcome

Beloved, you are an over comer and more than a conqueror through Him who loved you. (Romans 8 v.36) Your victory is sealed with the assurance of the blood of Jesus Christ!

But it is not easy to overcome hereditary (or what we have inherited from our parents or forefathers) and cultivated tendencies to do wrong. Adam was unable to survive the test of Satan he became defeated and fell through yielding to sinful desire and appetite. Men could never have overcome the power of appetite unless Christ had overcome on his behalf. Where Adam ended, Christ began with a 40 day and night fasting in the wilderness. The convicted sinner sees that his faults must be overcome and that his sinful desires and appetites and passions must be subjected to God’s will, that he must be partaker of the divine nature, having overcome the corruption that is in the world through lust. Having repented of his transgression of God’s law, he strives earnestly to overcome sin. The fine and white raiment is the righteousness or right doing of the saints [Revelation 19:8

Survive and overcome

Through Hezekiah’s faith he survived the captivity He received a letter from Sennachrib’s the messengers and read it, in it was threats and taunts from Sennachrib. Then he went up to the temple of the Lord and spread it out before the Lord and prayed.  He survived all these threats.

Perhaps today, you may receive some bad news, or, a word of threat, taunt or trouble. This is meant to bring undue pressure on your day, and to discourage your resolve to be committed to Christ completely. But you can follow the example of the great king of Judah, Hezekiah, whose Lord, life and kingdom was under threat to be wiped out by a threatening, taunting and you too can survive the troublesome king Sennacherib (the Devil) and overcame by his faithful prayer.

Why are some of God’s people completely overwhelmed by bad news, taunts, threats and troubles, and others overcome? Hezekiah’s example to us is that of laying it before the Lord in prayer’ and surviving the taunts of the Devil.  Then go to the temple of the Lord and spread it out before the Lord in prayer.

No matter what the devil says or does.  Jesus Christ is Lord, even of Satan and his demoniac host, and is capable of stopping his evil works to hinder you at any time. But the practice of prayer must be the point at which we allow God to know we intend to fully trust Him, even upon satanic threat or the existence of attack. Whatever it is today; lay it before the Lord.   Hezekiah was not only able to; he overcame a thousand to one because of his faithfulness

Ruth survived famine, poverty and disgrace.   Unlike women in modern society, Ruth and Naomi could not seek a widow’s pension. They had to find a refuge, to survive or starve and worse Ruth was a Moabite or in other words a foreigner.  Ruth by using her mother in law’s wisdom was sent into the fields to glean, The Holy Spirit moved upon a wealthy man named Boaz who she found favour with.  Today Ruth is named as an over comer by obeying counsel and has found herself to be in the lineage of David who is the lineage of Christ Jesus.

Conclusion

However one thing must be remembered that people cannot have slack/ungodly and illicit lifestyle i.e. adulterous, fornication, gay, robbers, thieves, unjust, dishonest, crooked, evil-minded,  marriage breakers, relationship breakers, church breakers, family breakers, children molesters, having sexual relationship with your next of kin (incest) obscene obscenities, pornography and be an overcomer. If a person continues in the above named sins, he or she cannot and will not be able to maintain and have God with them to deliver them from all their problems/troubles.  Daniel, Jonah and others were able and have kept God on their side resulting in great success/deliverance.

Definition of electron

4. During the cold war period a high percentage of air waves were used for signals and information which was used by the Secret Service throughout the UK, America, Russia and various other countries.  Because of this it was not available to be used by any civilians.  However when the cold war came to an end in 1991 the air waves were freed resulting in civilians and industries having the use of these airwaves by the source of mobile phones computers etc.

Definition of demons

1. An evil spirit a source or agent of evil, harm, distress, or ruin.
2. An evil spirit or devil one thought to possess a person or act as a tormentor in hell.
3. Demons are supernatural beings who are subservient to Satan.  They, like Satan, were once angels.  They joined Satan in this rebellion and were cast out of heaven with him.  When they are mentioned in Scripture, the primary focus is on demon possession of human beings.
4. The apostle Paul points out that while the idolatrous gods pagans worship do not actually exist, there are demons who do exist, instigating and propagating such pagan worship.  Those who participate in these pagan rituals are actually offering worship to demons and are thus operating under demonic direction.
5. The New Testament reveals several characteristics of demons.  There is often a physical or mental ailment associated with them, such as blindness or self-torture.  Demons often recognised Christ Jesus as the Holy One of God.  They feared and were subject to the authority of Jesus.  In addition, demons and superior or supernatural knowledge, superior strength, and the ability to foretell the future.
6. The Reformers reacted strongly against the excess practices and superstitions surrounding demons in the Middle Ages.  By the end of the sixteenth century, the practice of expelling demons had been abolished in the Lutheran Church.
7. While demons still continue to act, the level and severity of activity expressed in the New Testament is unique.  It was the “fullness of time,” the last great defense of this world against the Redeemer of mankind. Satan, as it were, pulled out all the stops.  With the Resurrection and the coming of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost, Satan’s reign, and that of his fellow demons, was severely restricted.  However, both Paul and John warn believers that in the end times the activities of Satan and his demons will be on the increase.
8. If we take the Bible seriously, we must take the demonic world seriously.  There can be no biblical theology without a corresponding demonology.
9. Though demons are real and powerful, there is no reason to believe that they can ever possess a Christian.  We may be harassed and tempted, or accused by demons, but never controlled by them.  Every Christian is indwelt by the Holy Spirit.  His presence guarantees liberty from demonic possession.  He is stronger than any demon that might attack us.

The electronic system we are dealing with is picked up by signals (electronics) mainly from the air and that is why we have the system that we have today.

Basically there is nothing wrong with the above engines, /networks.  All mankind should be very proud that they can be a part of this twenty first century age with all these electronic technological system, devices which makes life more excellent than before.

Today I your humble servant [Bishop] find the above technological electronic achievement to be a big problem because of the way some people use it.  This way is a problem to me which led me to this topic today called “electronic demon disease”. Let me put this to you today that just like how God made man.  He created us good and sinless but afterwards man allowed Satan and his evil devices to enter the mind of Adam and Eve and completely contaminated them.  As I said above God created man good, but man became evil and consequently brought death to all mankind.  Well this is what has happened to the electronic system devices.  God gave man this great knowledge to invest in these magnificent electronic devices/system.

The devil has again entered the minds of mankind to use these great inventions and innovations to do evil to completely capture the imagination of some people.  I have stated in this sermon above and I will name them again: Social networks, face book, twitter, my space, netlog, blog, emails etc. have caused some people to have become so addicted that some people cannot do without these gadgets which are i.e. mobile phones, computers etc..  All these gadgets seem to be taking up some people’s time.

For some people the electronic demon disease make it easy for some of them to be:

• Paedophiles searching the net for children to groom them and commit sexual crimes with them
• Men looking for children to use them for prostitution abroad
• To go on the internet and find someone to commit adultery with, fornication, pornography and all types of immoral activities at any time of the day.  Why?  Because one’s mind has become so depraved and immoral and it has become very easy to find someone who is suffering from the

electronic demon disease

Just like how the devil got into Adam and eve’s minds and controlled them, this is the same way these electronic devices are working.  The devil is using these devices to control our minds (especially the younger ones).  You will find some of these devices attract the young and they will steal to get this or harass their parents to get them.   Once they have them they are not the same children and even adults.  The devil completely takes them over through these devices.

We must all now turn to the word of God and seek him for his Holy Spirit to get back in our minds.

Just the other day “Apple” brought out a new Ipad (version 3) some weeks ago.  People queued for three days to get a copy in the shop.  Bearing in mind that they have already have copies of the first second edition.  When you travel or walk on the street some people do not have time to say hello or good morning anymore.  All you can see are people listening to their Pad music player etc. Some people walk and text and some even try to text while driving.

Tell me if your minds are not controlled by the electronic demon disease.

Why does anyone want to be caught up in this mess of electronic demon disease why don’t people ask themselves why do I do the things I do with my computers/mobile phones. Why do I allow myself to listen to Satan (devil) music?

Note: some of the music people listen to are the vehicle the Devil use to chant and transmit the electronic demon disease to mankind.

 EXTRA NOTES

It is easy to be puppets of evil demons, beset by malevolent forces.

Computers and cell phones are yet another opening for devils to exploits in order to corrupt and control man’s soul. Anything with a brain can be possessed, and that includes the modern computer. However, evil spirits, for some reason, need some hard drive space. Why disembodied spirits need hard drive space we do not know but it is said that only computers made after 1985 have enough space to host demons. These must be extremely uncomplicated souls, perhaps in accordance with their exquisite nature.

Many people are in touch with dark forces whenever they use their computers abusively. Decent, happily married family men were drawn irresistibly to pornographic Web sites and forced to witness unspeakable abominations.

Housewives who had never expressed an impure thought were entering Internet chat rooms and found themselves spewing foul, debasing language which they would never use normally.

Some young people tend to have their personalities change on text communication. You have expert touch typists who cannot text as fast as some of these young people. Their fingers move faster than lightening.

It is estimated that one in ten computers in America are host to evil spirits.

Conclusion:

Can you imagine what would happen if we treated our Bible the same way we treat our cell phone?  We would act like we couldn’t live without it.  We would carry it everywhere we go – in our wallet, on our belt, or in our purse.  We would look through it several times a day.  If we forget it at home or at the office, we would go back to get.  We would use it to send messages to our family and friends.  We would give it as gifts to our children and loved ones for their protection.

The cell phone has its benefits.  In fact, cell phones have even become a convenient tool for Bible reading, but overall, the benefits we receive from using our cell phone can’t begin to compare with the benefits of reading the Bible.  The Word of God is always in readiness, never needing to be re-charged.  It never goes out of signal.  There are no monthly fees or subscription plans, and there are no potential health hazards in using it (as we are being warned now about cell phone usage). So let’s rediscover the Bible in its richness, beauty and transforming power.  “Let’s get into the Bible,” as the old preacher admonished, “Until the Bible gets into us,”

How do we cure this electronic demon disease?

1. We need to get our minds transformed  – Romans Chapter 12: verse 2 onwards
2. Walk in the right path of God – Ephesians Chapter 4: verses 17 – 20
3. Walk in the light – Ephesians Chapter 4: verses 5 – 20
4. Not ignorant of the devil devices – 2 Corinthians Chapter 2: 11

Topic:   When all you have is God you have all you need – Jonah 2 & Daniel 6:16

Time does not permit me to go through all the definition of God but let me in a nutshell define the nature and attributes of God.  We have:

1. His self existence: - possessed by virtue of a being’s own nature, and independent of any other being or cause; - God is transcendent; He was here before time and is not answerable to anyone – no Government, no Board of Management/committee and no other force or power. An attribute peculiar to God alone .Gen 1:1, Rev 4:11 refers.

1. His Omnipotence – GOD is fittingly described as omnipotent and almighty, all powerful yet all greatness. Isaiah 14:24 refers.
2. His Omnipresence - describes the ability to be at all places at the same time. God is present everywhere Psalms 139:8, Isaiah 14:24 refers
3. His Omniscience –  ?is the capacity to know everything infinitely, or at least everything that can be known about a character including thoughts, feelings, life  and having all knowledge- Job 24:23
4. His Holiness – Holy is word that means to set apart a place of pilgrimage or something that is sacred and is for the worshiping of God. It also means something or someone that has been accepted by God and is free from sinful affections Isaiah 43:15
5. His Goodness  - to be able to understand the fact of “goodness?comes from God and evil comes from the Devil ”2 Chronicles 6:41
6. His Justice -  The quality of being just; conformity to the principles of righteousness and rectitude in all things; strict performance of moral obligations; practical conformity to human or divine law; integrity in the dealings of men with each other Psalms 89:14 refers

Jesus said “I will never leave you, nor forsake you”.  I will never be alone, Praise God that he holds my hand as I go through the storms.

1. The Scriptures given for this topic are Jonah Chapter 2 and Daniel Chapter 6: verse 16. I will go to Jonah Chapter 2 starting from verse 1 onwards.

Jonah never would have chosen to go where God took him just as none of us would choose to go through some of our own horrible experiences. But in the end Jonah learned lessons he could not have learned otherwise. At times God must take each of us through difficult journeys to teach us things that we could not learn any other way.

Throughout his pains and anger he learned in the end that: When all you have is God you have all you need. This is a hard lesson for him and us to learn.  If God asks you to do something DO IT.  Don’t run and hide and make excuses, you will have to come back to the source.   Just as Jonah went into the pit (the whales belly) likewise some of our life experiences are like the whales belly.

You may have lost your health and your wealth has faded away, alone and forsaken you have lost your way, cry out for mercy, go to your knees in prayer, I know you’ll find God is always there.

When God is all you have you’ll find he is all you need, you may not understand that whatever you lost he will replace, when God is all you have, you’ll find he is all you need.

You’ll find in these moments the strength to make it through whatever you are facing, God will be with you, in the midst of the storm he is peace to your soul, be still and you will find you are never alone . Daniel 6:16

Then the king commanded, and they brought Daniel, and cast him into the den of lions. Now the king spake and said unto Daniel, Thy God whom thou servest continually, he will deliver thee.

When Daniel heard about the new decree, he immediately broke it by going to his room to pray. The conspirators caught him in the act and told the King.  He knew that whatever he was going through God was all he had…

Phil 4:16 “But my God shall supply all your needs…”

“A lot of crimes are not sins, and a lot of sins are not crimes.”  Daniel was a righteous man and was convicted of a crime which is not a sin. Daniel purposefully committed this crime because he did not wish to commit a sin, which was not a crime.

Someone once said that loyalty is like the juice of an orange – the flavour cannot be determined until the orange is squeezed beyond the breaking point.

The Bible testifies to the truthfulness of this statement. Loyalty is one of the most powerful forces within the human heart.

This is exactly how Daniel was.  Because of his loyalty to God it was evident in his trials that God granted him favour.  Because all Daniel had was God this evident trial proved that he had all he needed.

(Heb 13 v 5) Jesus said “I will never leave you, nor forsake you”. I will never be alone, Praising God that he holds my hand as I go through the storms. Thank you Lord.

Daniel, Jonah and others were able and have kept God on their side resulting in great success/deliverance.  People like Daniel, Jonah, Hezekiah and other bible characters had lived a good and godly life.  Here God was with them and stood with them and that is why they were so successful.

This hope is a reality, Jesus is coming again! This is the joyful expectation of true believers. Have you stopped hoping, trusting and believing because you have been let down and others have disappointed you? Its time to start dreaming again! We can be optimistic because God keeps His promises:

God has great plans to prosper us and give us a great and glorious hope.

“There is surely a future hope for you and your hope will not be cut off” Proverbs 23:18 NIV

So what are you waiting for? To get to the top of the highest mountain peak begins with the first step. Go on, climb your mountain one step at a time.

“Know also that wisdom is sweet to your soul; If you find it, there is a future hope for you, and your hope will not be cut off” Proverbs 24:14

Ask God for Godly wisdom to live the Christian life and to live right with our brothers and sisters.

“But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, unwavering, without hypocrisy. James 3:17

Do you have a wayward son or daughter, hold firm to the promises of God to bring them back.

There is a glimmer of hope on the horizon, light at the end of our tunnels of disappointments and tidal waves of adversity. There is hope in King Jesus, there is hope in God. Serve God diligently and in sincerity.

“Without faith no one can please God. Anyone who comes to God must believe that He is real and that He rewards those who truly want to find Him” Hebrews 11:6NCV

Ask God to increase our faith to trust and believe and take Him at His word.

We can rest in knowing that God rewards those who diligently seek Him. Jesus never fails, He is our helper and defender, our rock in a weary land, shelter in life’s storms of disappointments, doubt and fear and tsunami of sorrows. We will stand upon the word of God. He is able to deliver us.

A mighty Fortress is our God.

Be of Good Cheer!

We are still in the first quarter of the New Year 2012. We do not know what is in store for us this year, but we do know that God holds tomorrow and the future is in His hands.

“These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world” John 16:33

Are you glad to see the back of 2011?  What kind of year was it for you?  Was it your [Queen Elizabeth’s 1992, Annus Horribilis]?  Whether it was what you consider to be a good year or a horrible year, our God is firmly in control.  Now its time to push ahead, leave the past behind.  Forgive if you need to, repent if that is what’s required of you.  Show some love in action where it’s been lacking.  The only time we should look back, is to see where God has brought us from and how we got over by His grace and mercy.  Do not look back with regret, but resolve to be an overcomer through Jesus Christ.

“And they overcame Him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death” Revelation 12:11

In order to have a testimony we must undergo testing and this is never a pleasant experience.  Ask God to strengthen us so that when we go through trials we will endure, maintain our integrity in Christ, and our tests will be transformed to testimonies, our trials to triumph.  James exhorts us:

“My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials.  Knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience” James 1:2-3

Let us resolve that 2012 will be a faith walk.  We will not believe in only what we can see, but we will trust God for an uncertain and unknown future.  We serve a great big wonderful God, always victorious, always watching over us.

“For we walk by faith, not by sight” 2 Corinthians 5:7

God keeps every one of His promises and He will never let us down.

“The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, His mercies never come to an end, they are new every morning, Great is your faithfulness” Lamentations 3:22-23

God is faithful, and He loves us with an everlasting love.  God has promised to be with us every step of the way.  Remember, when it seems as if heaven is silent, no one understands and we are out on a limb, God is always with you.  Count your blessings instead of focussing on what you do not have.

“Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said: “Never will I leave you, never will I forsake you”  Hebrews 13:5

Be bold, be strong, the Lord your God is with you.  Maintain the highest standards of righteousness and holiness unto the Lord our God.  Ask for a fresh anointing.  In unity is strength.  Let us pray one for another that God will keep us sincere, pure and holy in these last days.  Keep in mind that we are labouring for a crown that does not fade or perish.  It is God who will ultimately reward us.

There is a saying that goes, “Accomplishment and success are often the result of commitment and perseverance rather than skill or talent.”

In Galatians 6:9, it reads “Let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.”

Both are statements true and relevant to the testament of the Hon.Bishop E.S. Henry! A man, who has with his team, worked, persevered and presided over the spiritual body that is Mount Zion 7th Day of God for 40 years.
