BORN AGAINreborn

To be born again is to gain the real security to eternal life. – John 3:1-7

There was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews.

This man came to Jesus by night and said to Him, “Rabbi, we know that You are a teacher come from God; for no one can do these signs that You do unless God is with him.”
Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
Nicodemus said to Him, “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born?”
Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

Note: – Nicodemus was a member of the Sanhedrin Council they were the highest court of justice and Supreme Council in ancient Jerusalem.

Nicodemus realised that we need a clearance for heaven and once we get it we can shout I am free at last.
How can an individual be born again?
Just as we would need to obtain a CRB (Criminal Record Bureau) for a job knowing that this gives us a clearance to that job. Consequently we need a RCB to obtain clearance to heaven.
There are three processes to obtain Salvation.
• Repentance
• Conversion
• Baptism
Repentance
Repentance is to have sincere regret or remorse when we hear God’s word and acknowledges that we are sinners then turn from sin to live our lives by the will of God.
When the Word of God is preached it convicts our spirit and whatever we are doing that is not right we would acknowledge and should seek to correct our behaviour. Repentance is a change to a Godly Lifestyle.

Conversion
Conversion is the state of changing from one form to another; therefore this is where old habits of the sinful nature die. Paul calls it transformation in Romans 12:1-2.
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
This is where the believer learns not to conform (behave according to the worldly standards) to the sinful nature, but the mind of the believer begins to change where their interest is drawn to the things of God.
• You are no more a thief
• You are no more an adulterer
• You are no more a fornication
• You are no more a liar
• You are no more a defrauder
• You are no more dishonest

Baptism
The word baptize is from the Greek word (Baptizo) which means “to immerse.” The process of baptism consists of immersion in water the process is used to describe John’s baptism and Christian baptism, which is a public declaration of an individual faith in Christ. When a person is baptized in water, his or her body is totally immersed in the water and brought out again.
The importance of water baptism is that it represents the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ and our relationship with Him in them. Water Baptism involves the contrast between the old life and a new life in Christ Jesus. The Bible state; “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold all things are become new.”2 Cor 5:17 (KJV)
Baptism also allows the world to acknowledge the spiritual change which takes place with an individual, an outward show of the inward work.
If anyone is united to Christ by faith hence getting to know him would not be by our natural abilities or the influence of others but to begin a relationship with Christ.
Water baptism also gives the believer the opportunity to openly testify to others of his born-again experience. It serves as an outward sign and testimony of an inward grace.
