“He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows, and familiar with suffering. Like one from whom men hide their faces he was despised, and we esteemed Him not” Isaiah 53:3 NIV

Reject: “A reject is a product that cannot be used, because there is something wrong with it” [Collins Dictionary].  Have you ever suffered rejection?  Do you feel like a reject?  You don’t fit in with the clique at church?  Your parent/s say you were unplanned, bottom line unwanted.  Your work colleagues despise you, you are left on the shelf, suffered the betrayal and rejection of a spouse or a close friend?  When we are rejected by men then God will take us up and wrap us in His loving arms.  If you have ever suffered rejection then you will know and appreciate the love of God, its rich, pure, measureless and strong.

Jesus suffered humiliation of the cross, his crucifixion was gruesome but He went through it for you and me that we can come into fellowship and relationship with Him.  We were condemned to die but we have been redeemed!  We have been accepted by God, our sins are forgiven, past, present and future through the shed blood of Jesus on Calvary.  We praise God that we are now citizens of the kingdom of heaven!

“To the praise of the glory of His grace, wherein He hath made us accepted in the beloved.  In whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace” Ephesians 1:6-7 KJV

We have been accepted by God as sons and daughters.  Jesus’ royal blood flows in our veins, we are royal!  We will reign with Jesus when He returns with power and great glory.  Until then, there are a few great events that I anticipate with hopeful expectation.  These are the sacraments of the Lord’s Supper, Baptism and Marriage.  This month we commemorate Our Lord’s Death and Celebrate His resurrection by partaking of the emblems of unleavened bread and wine.  We wash each other’s feet to show love and humility.  As we reflect on the Lord’s death, may we cast off the things that weigh us down, sin, jealousy, malice, pride, burdens and fear.  Let’s celebrate Jesus, He is risen!  He is our God, our hope, life, joy and all.

Today the world still reject Jesus, will you accept Him, despise Him or reject Him? There is room at the cross for all.   Ask God to give us wisdom to live in a way that honours Him and brings glory to His name.

“Man of sorrows what a name, for the Son of God who came, ruined sinners to reclaim, Hallelujah! What a Saviour”

Love and blessings
